Communist Party Of India (Marxist) state secretary B V Raghavulu, on Tuesday, said that the
arrest of YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy by the Central Bureau Of Investigation gives room for suspicion that it was an act of political vendetta.
Talking to media persons while participating in the by-election campaign in Chittoor district, Raghavulu accused the CBI of having failed to provide clarity on Jaganmohan Reddy's arrest in the assets case.
Suspecting a conspiracy by the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party behind Jagan's arrest, he asked the probing agency why it has not initiated such action against the 5 ministers in Kiran Kumar Reddy's cabinet who received notices from the Supreme Court for issuing controversial GOs favouring Jagan.
"The arrest of Jagan by the CBI clearly proves that it is political revenge taken by the Congress and the TDP by conspiring with the CBI," he said.
"Unable to beat Jagan politically in the by-elections, that both the ruling Congress and the TDP have conspired with the CBI, to trap him in the case," he said.
He said that the CPI(M) would expose the political gimmicks of both the TDP and the Congress in the by-elections, and appealed to people to teach them a fitting lesson.
Stating that no party has the right to speak against corruption, he demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy immediately suspend his corrupt ministers and order probe against them if he has any commitment towards eradicating corruption from the state. (INN)
