The CBI has announced that it will be submitting a second supplementary chargesheet, in YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's disproportionate assets and land allocation cases, today. CBI had submitted a status report on its ongoing investigation yesterday, which led to an extension of the judicial remand of Jagan, Pharma magnate Nimmagadda Prasad, former Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana and IAS officer Bramhananda Reddy, till 8 April.
The report said that the investigation on three companies, namely Penna, Dalmia, and India Cements, has been concluded; while that on Bharati Cements, Sandur Power, Indu, and Lepakshi, is still underway, and has reached a critical junction.
CBI had submitted its first chargesheet in this case on 3 July 2012, naming Jagan, Vijay Sai Reddy, Aurobindo Group of Industries, and 13 other persons and entities as primary accused. This chargesheet alleged that YS Rajashekhar Reddy's government had doled out concessions to the accused and their companies, in return for them investing heavily in businesses run by his son.
