In support of the United National International Year of Water Cooperation, World Tourism Day (WTD) 2013 is being held under the theme "Tourism And Water: Protecting Our Common Future".
And as part of the World Tourism Day celebrations, Prakrithi Mitra National Green Corps is organizing competitions for school children on the theme "Tourism And Water: Protecting Our Common Future", at Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Public Gardens, on September 22. Competitions on this theme will be held in clay modelling, debate and creative writing.
These contests are being organized at the instance of the AP Tourism Department, jointly with Prakrithi Mitra NGC and Jawahar Bal Bhavan.
This year's theme highlights tourism's role in water access, and shines a spotlight on the actions currently being taken by the sector in order to contribute to a more sustainable water future, as well as the challenges ahead. It is a worldwide platform to underscore tourism's responsibility and commitment in ensuring a sustainable water future.
The winners of the competition will be awarded on the occasion of the World Tourism Day on Sept 27. (INN)
