A 7-foot-long snake which entered the airport at Shamshabad and almost got into the landing gear compartment of an aircraft freaked the authorities out today.
A 7-foot-long snake, which managed to slither its way past the high security compound walls of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad and almost entered the landing gear compartment of an aircraft on the tarmac, kept the authorities on tenterhooks for quite some time today.
The airport staff noticed the snake near the aircraft and alerted officials who immediately called the internal wildlife group comprising snake charmers to capture it. But the black reptile, suspected to be a cobra, made the staff and onlookers watch the drama for several tense moments. The airport ground staff heaved a sigh of relief after finally catching it, and said had the serpent entered the aircraft it could have harmed the passengers.
