There was a stir in the State government after a tweet by BRS working president K T Rama Rao on the already completed Gopannapally flyover not being inaugurated, and it has resulted in quick action.
KTR had asked why the Congress government was not inaugurating the flyover constructed by his party's government despite it being complete.
In his tweet, KTR had said if the flyover was inaugurated, it would be of great benefit to the residents of Nallagandla, Tellapur and Chandanagar, and that their traffic woes would be greatly reduced. He alleged that CM Revanth Reddy's government was ignoring the flyover for political reasons.
With KTR's tweet, the administration initiated corrective measures. Authorities were instructed to prepare the ground for the inauguration of the flyover immediately. Local MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, Gachibowli corporator Gangadhar Reddy and GHMC Serilingampally circle Deputy Commissioner Rajnikanth Reddy inspected the final phase of the flyover at the Gopanpally Thanda on Thursday, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to inaugurate the flyover tomorrow.
During the BRS' regime, the construction of the flyover was taken up at a cost of Rs 28.5 crore with the special initiative of the then minister K T Rama Rao. It has been constructed as a Y-shaped one-way flyover from the Nanakramguda Financial District IT corridor side towards Nallagandla and Chandanagar with a length of 430 metres, and towards Tellapur with a length of 550 metres.
