Former minister Dokka Manikyavara Prasad on Thursday requested the Congress High Command to nominate a Backward Classes leader for the post of Chief Minister.
Speaking to media persons at the State Secretariat here, Dokka said that the Congress High Command would consider the candidatures of Union ministers J D Seelam or Panabaka Lakshmi for the post. Else, Medical Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan is also capable of leading the state, he said.
When asked whether he was in the race for the CM's post, he ruled out its possibilities, and said that he is not capable of becoming the Chief Minister.
Dokka said that he would abide by the decision of the Congress leadership and would work to strengthen the party in his constituency and district. (INN)
