Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today initiated steps to address the grievances of people directly, the very next day of assuming office.
The Chief Minister held a "Praja Darbar" at his official residence, Jyothiba Phule Praja Bhavan (the erstwhile Pragathi Bhavan) in Begumpet. The darbar begun at around 10 am, with Reddy receiving applications from people.
He enquired in detail about the problems being faced by the people who came to the darbar in large numbers, giving priority to the differently-abled by asking about their issues and receiving applications from them first.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that immediate measures would be taken to address the grievances.
Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Danasari Anasuya (Seetakka) were also present at the darbar.
Later, the Chief Minister left for the Secretariat to attend an emergency meeting.
The State government made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of the darbar. CMO Special Chief Secretary Seshadri, DGP Ravi Gupta, Metro Water Works (Jalamandali) MD Dana Kishore, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose, Hyderabad Collector Anudeep, Director of Prohibition & Excise Musharraf Ali Faruqui and other officials coordinated the event.
A total of 15 desks were opened for grievance registration, and a special mechanism was developed to register the petitions online and issue a unique Grievance Number to each petition. A printed acknowledgment was given to the applicants along with SMS acknowledgement. 320 seats were arranged for people to sit inside the darbar. Queue lines were also set up outside, and roofs were also set up for the queue lines. In addition, safe drinking water and other facilities were also provided to those who were waiting at the entrance and in the Praja Darbar hall.
