CM Orders Vigilance Inquiry Into Fish, Sheep Distribution Schemes
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy today ordered an inquiry into transactions of the fish and sheep distribution schemes of the previous BRS government in Telangana.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today ordered officials to conduct a vigilance and enforcement inquiry into transactions of the fish and sheep distribution schemes implemented during the previous BRS government in Telangana.
The CM held a review meeting with officials of the animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries departments at the Secretariat and asked them to conduct a full-scale investigation into the transactions that had taken place since the inception of the schemes.
He instructed the officials to submit the preliminary vigilance and enforcement report to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Meanwhile, the ACB has already registered a case against three staffers of the animal husbandry department and a contractor over alleged irregularities in the distribution of sheep.
The recent CAG report also exposed massive irregularities and corruption in the scheme.
The BRS government had launched fish and sheep distribution schemes aimed at improving the meat production to meet the domestic and export needs, and also to strengthen the rural economy. But the implementation of the schemes was allegedly filled with scores of irregularities.
