The state government must explain why it is not initiating civil action against Jagan despite the CBI having launched criminal proceedings against him, demands the TDP.
Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council, on Saturday, suspected the involvement of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in the cases of Jagan's corruption.
Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, Veerabhadra Rao said the state government must explain why it was not initiating civil action against YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy despite the Central Bureau Of Investigation having launched criminal proceedings against him.
He also asked why the government has not scrapped the permits given to Jagan's projects despite the CBI having unearthed several irregularities in them.
"Since Kiran Kumar Reddy himself is involved in Jagan's corruption, he is not initiating action against him," he alleged.
Responding to a question on the arrest of former excise minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao in the case of Jagan's assets, he complained that a Backward Class minister has been made a scapegoat in the entire episode.
Extending support to Mopidevi, he said that the CM and other ministers were making efforts to influence the CBI probe.
He also said the CM must file an affidavit in the Supreme Court on behalf of the state government, in connection with the notices served for the 26 controversial GOs favouring Jagan. (INN)
