Scores of people led by leaders of the Central Indian Trade Union (CITU), in collaboration with Dynamic Youth Federation Of India (DYFI), staged a protest on Tuesday at civil supplies office at Purani Haveli in Hyderabad.
The CITU and DYFI leaders demanded that the civil supplies department issue new ration cards to those who did not possess them and also to those whose cards had been cancelled.
The protestors also demanded that the government ensure proper supply of ration to card holders, and take strict action against fair price shop dealers who sell rations in the black market.
CITU city activists Dharma Naik had later given a memorandum to Assistant Secretary Officer and urged for the fulfillment of their demands at the civil supply office.
