Putting to rest all speculation of a power tussle within the NTR family, Nandamuri Balakrishna today proclaimed that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu "will be the Chief Minister when the party comes to power".
There were wild speculations about who will be projected as the candidate for the next Chief Minister by TDP, and with Balakrishna asserting that he will contest for the assembly, the speculation gained some more currency. However, the film star has announced that it will be his brother-in-law Chandrababu Naidu who "will be the next Chief Minister". Balakrishna’s daughter Brahmini is married to Naidu’s son Lokesh.
"Anyone working hard for the party will be rewarded suitably," he told reporters after participating in the signature campaign against the power charges.
When asked to speak about NTR Jr.’s pictures appearing on flexi banners during YSR Congress meetings, he said, "It is for NTR Jr. to react. However, I will talk to him about it."
The Party has nothing to lose with Kodali Nani (Gudivada MLA) quitting, he said. Balakrishna took strong objection to NTR (senior) picture being used by other parties. He is the founder president of TDP and his picture cannot be used by others, he said. He also evaded a direct reply when asked about TDP not participating in the No Confidence Motion but said that Congress is responsible for the present power crisis. (INN)
