Naidu Vows To Make Andhra Pradesh No. 1 By 2029
The CM was reviewing the governance of his two-year rule with district Collectors at the two-day Collectors' Conference that commenced in Vijayawada today.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today said the residuary State of AP was just a "two-year-old child".
The Chief Minister was reviewing the governance of his two-year rule with district Collectors at the two-day Collectors' Conference that commenced in Vijayawada today.
Addressing the conference, Naidu said that the collective efforts of the officials had increased the State's revenue by 3.1%. He expressed satisfaction with the functioning of the district Collectors.
Naidu said that the target of his government was to make Andhra Pradesh the no. 1 in the country by 2029, and asked the officials to cooperate with the government to help achieve the target.
One of the important goals of his government was protecting water resources, and the recent rains had helped increase underground water by 1.51%, he also said.
During the two-day Collectors' conference, the State government will review the progress and achievements so far, and set the agenda for the 2016-17 financial year. This is the 7th conference in the last two years. The conference will have discussions over the reforms needed for effective administration. These sessions will also address backwardness, and ensure more transparency and accountability in implementation of various schemes.
