Congress MLC Rudraraju Padmaraju, on Tuesday, stated that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was resorting to "slinging mud and making baseless charges against Chief Minister K Rosaiah as he was in a "psychologically depressed" state.
Talking to media persons at the CLP office, Padmaraju condemned Naidu's remarks, which had alleged that Rosaiah was involved in the dubious land dealings between Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and Emaar Properties. He termed these remarks as "unwarranted and far from the truth".
The MLC said that Naidu has "lost his mental balance" and was "resorting to such mudslinging and laying baseless charges against the senior Congress leader and spotless chief minister K Rosaiah".
Padmaraju stated that this frustration had sprouted from Naidu's gradual slip over his own party. Warning Naidu of serious consequences, he demanded that the TDP chief withdraw his comments immediately and issue an apology for the remarks.
"In his long political career, Rosaiah has not been accused of being involved in any scams, nor have any corruption charges been leveled against him. He has always stuck to the principles of the party. How could the TDP chief level allegations against such a spotless and senior leader, and how could he allege that Rosaiah is involved in the dubious land dealings?" Padmaraju questioned.
When pointed out that Congress leader D L Ravindra had sought a CBI probe into the APIIC scam, the MLC said that the government was making efforts to recover its share in the dealings.
