Expressing concern over the health condition of world-renowned spiritual teacher Sri Satya Sai Baba on Tuesday, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday stated that he has offered prayers for Baba's well-being and longevity.
"I have offered prayers to God to give Satya Sai Baba a long and stable life so that he can continue his philanthropic activities which have benefited a large number of people across religious divides," Naidu told mediapersons at NTR Trust Bhavan.
The TDP chief recalled his association with Satya Sai Baba, and stated that Baba brought recognition to the state at an international level by taking up philanthropic activities.
Pointing to Sai Baba's financial support for the supply of Krishna water to the people of Tamil Nadu as an example of his philanthropic activities, Naidu said, "He is a role model for others on how to serve humanity selflessly."
The TDP chief added that though he wanted to visit Prashanti Nilayam at Puttaparthi to personally inquire about Sai Baba's health, he had cancelled his visit as it would mean inconvenience to the doctors.
Meanwhile, TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav and MLC Nannapuneni Rajakumari also expressed concern over Satya Sai Baba's deteriorating health condition, and prayed for his speedy recovery. (INN)
