The Congress' whip in the Legislative Council, Rudraraju Padmaraju, on Tuesday claimed that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu was exploring means to rejoin the National Democratic Alliance at the Centre.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly, Rudraraju said that Naidu appears to be disappointed with his efforts to revive the Third Front at the national level, and that therefore, he was now making efforts to return to the NDA fold.
Accepting the invitation to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is a clear indication that Naidu was getting close to the BJP and the NDA, he said.
Speaking about the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Rudraraju said that the party had an alliance with the Congress in 2004, and had later also joined the government, allied with the TDP in 2009; and remarked that it now seems to be searching for new allies for the 2014 elections. He said the TRS must take one political stand and stick to it to avoid confusion among people.
Rudrsraju also defended PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana, who is being condemned for his
remarks on the Delhi rape case. He said media has misquoted or misrepresented his statement on the issue. He demanded that fast-track courts be set up to try cases like this one. (INN)
