Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, on Sunday, completed 100 kilometres of his padyatra titled "Vastunna Mee Kosam".
Naidu launched his padayatra on October 2 from Hindupur constituency of Anantapur district. On the 6th day, his padayatra reached Kambadaaru mandal near Kottur.
In the past six days, Naidu interacted with different communities, and promised them that he would take steps for their welfare if the TDP returns to power in the next elections.
Addressing a corner meeting at Kothagudem, Naidu joked that Andhra Pradesh has been converted into "Andhera Pradesh" due to the policies of the Congress government. He also listed out the hikes affected by the UPA and the state Governments on different commodities and services during their rule.
Earlier, the TDP chief received an overwhelming response in Rapthadu Assembly constituency, which is represented by the widow of former minister Paritala Ravindra. His speeches in the constituency were mainly centres around accusing the Congress party of the murder of Paritala Ravindra. He was accompanied in his campaign by Paritala's son, Sreeram.
Naidu will walk another 2,240 kilometres, covering 16 districts of the state, in the next 111 days. The yatra will most likely conclude on January 26 next year.
Naidu believes that through his padayatra, which he calls "Vastunna Mee Kosam", he will be able to study the problems being faced by different sections of the society. (INN)
