The Telangana government told the Union Home Ministry dividing the AP Bhavan office with Andhra Pradesh under the AP Reorganization Act was becoming impractical as the four blocks in the building had different Floor Area Ratios (FAR).
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wrote a letter addressed to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the issue, responding to which, the Ministry agreed to settle the dispute, provided both the Telugu governments agree to apportion the government building in accordance with the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act.
Earlier, the Home Ministry held a meeting of Chief Secretaries of Telangana and AP, which decided to divvy up the four blocks - Swarnamukhi, Sabari and Godavari blocks - and the Chief Minister's cottage in terms of the total land and FAR.
