CBIT, Vasavi Allowed Highest Fees Among Engineering Colleges

The Telangana government has issued orders revising the fee structure for various private unaided engineering colleges for the 2025-28 period.

A total of 33 engineering colleges in the State have been allowed to charge more than Rs 1 lakh per year as tuition fee, while two engineering colleges have been permitted to charge Rs 1 lakh.

The State Education Department issued GO (6) today confirming the revised tuition fees for a total of 160 engineering colleges. These fees will be applicable for the 2025-28 block period.

In the previous block period, too, the number of colleges charging more than Rs 1 lakh was also 33. However, the number of colleges with a Rs 1 lakh fee, which was seven earlier, has now been reduced to two.

The highest fee has been fixed at Rs 1.83 lakh for Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), followed by Rs 1.75 lakh for Vasavi College of Engineering.

The Telangana Admissions and Fees Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) recommended that the State government reduce the existing tuition fees for 19 colleges and not increase the fee for 70 other engineering colleges. The fee has been fixed at Rs 45,000 for 21 colleges.

The newly decided fees will come into effect from the current academic year (2025-26). They will apply to students joining B Tech first year in the academic years 2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28, and those students will pay the same fee for all four years of their course.
