CBI Court Grants Bail To Mopidevi
The court directed Mopidevi not to leave Hyderabad without the court's permission and that he shouldn't try to influence witnesses or tamper with evidence.
The CBI Special Court on Monday granted bail to former minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao, an accused in the VANPIC aspect of the quid pro quo investments case against YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Mopidevi was arrested by the CBI on May 25, 2012, on charges of irregularities in the VANPIC segment of the Disproportionate Assets case of Jaganmohan Reddy.
Also, he was granted interim bail by the CBI court on more than one occasion.
The court had directed Mopidevi not to leave Hyderabad without the court's permission and that he should not try to influence witnesses or tamper with evidence.
Mopidevi was also asked to furnish a personal bond of Rs. 2 lakh, and 2 sureties of the same sum towards execution of the bail.
Mopidevi is expected to be released from the Chanchalguda Jail on Monday evening, after the completion of bail formalities. (INN)
