The special CBI court in Hyderabad today heard the petition filed by rebel YSR Congress Party MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju which the latter had filed asking for the cancellation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's bail.
However, after the CBI officials dealing with the case appealed to the court for more time to submit their written arguments, the court adjourned the hearing till July 30, postponing the verdict once again.
While both Raju's and the CM's lawyers have already submitted their respective written arguments, the CBI officials are yet to do so. They had asked for an extension for this on July 14 as well, urging the court to take a decision on the cancellation of the bail using its discretionary powers.
The hearings on the issue have been underway for quite some time now. Last month, the CM had
filed his counter at the CBI court.
In the counter, Jagan had told the court that he had not violated any of the conditions mentioned in his bail orders. He also informed the court that the petition filed by Raju did not have any merit for it to be entertained and alleged that the MP was trying to "use the judiciary to settle his political scores", and had urged the court to dismiss the petition.
