Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan, on Sunday, said that barring a few stray incidents, the Group-1 preliminary examination being conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) passed off peacefully in the state capital.
Khan told media persons that the examination was conducted peacefully in all centres in the city except Osmania University B. Ed College, where the students barged into college by breaching the 3-tier security net.
According to sources, the Osmania University Joint Action Committee students pelted stones against police and entered the college through the rear door, and forcibly pulled away question papers and OMR sheets, tearing them.
Terming the OU incident as 'unfortunate', the police chief said the police had acted swiftly against these violators and arrested 60 of them.
The police will file cases against the guilty for violating Section 144 that was
imposed at the examination centres, after observing the video clippings, he stated.
