A criminal case has been registered against BRS leader and Rajya Sabha MP Joginapalli Santhosh Kumar.
The case was registered on the complaint of representatives of Navayuga of alleged land-grabbing on Banjara Hills Road No 14 using forged documents.
The police have registered a case against Santosh Kumar and another person.
Navayuga claimed in the complaint to the police on March 21 that it had purchased 1,350 square yards of land in Survey Number 129/54, and that attempts were being made to grab the land by creating fake documents.
A case has consequently been registered under sections 400, 471, 447 and 120B read with 34, of the IPC.
Meanwhile, reacting to the case, Santhosh Kumar said that the allegations of land-grabbing levelled against him were false.
"In 2016, I purchased a 904-square-yard plot in Survey Number 129/54 in Shaikpet fully legally after paying Rs 3,81,50,000. I purchased it through a registered sale deed. There is no question of the word forgery. That's not true. No legal dispute has arisen for eight years. No one contacted me. No construction was undertaken on that land after I purchased it. The same constructions that Shyamsundar and earlier have undertaken are continuing," Santhosh Kumar explained, and claimed that the case was registered with purely political motives.
