In an unfortunate road mishap that occurred today, two engineering students lost their lives while three others sustained serious injuries when the car in which they were travelling hit an electric pole.
The two victims who lost their lives on the spot have been identified as Kaushik and Joe. The group of five had reportedly driven to Financial District, Hyderabad, to appear for an exam at the Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology.
The incident took place when the students were returning from Gandipet and were driving towards Narsingi. In their attempts to avoid crashing into an auto-rickshaw, they rammed into an electric pole.
The Narsingi police reached the spot soon after to investigate the matter after shifting the bodies for postmortem examinations to the Osmania Hospital mortuary.
The three injured travellers have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Some days ago, a
similar road accident had occurred in Sangareddy district's Choutkur mandal. Five persons had lost their lives in the mishap.
It was the result of the collsion of a lorry and a car. The five victims, identified as Luka (46), his wife Deevena (41), Ambadas (33), his wife Padma (23) and their son Vivek (6), were killed on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
