Commuters on all national highways in the country could soon seek help if needed, from a 24x7 call centre.
A 4-digit number will be made available to reach the call centre throughout the country, and this will be operational by April next year.
Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Mahadeo Singh Khandela told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that the call centre would be set up by the National Highways Authority Of India (NHAI), and that all the national highways will be covered under this scheme.
