BRS MLA Harish Rao today asked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy when he would pay the rent for the gurukuls.
"When will the CM, who is also the education minister, care about the deteriorating education system in the Congress regime? In Jayashankar Bhupalapalle district, the owner of the minority residential school locked the place as the rent was not paid for the last 10 months. The plight of the owner can be easily understood. This is yet more proof that the management of gurukuls has reached a bad stage during the Congress rule," he said on this X handle.
He claimed that several gurukul schools and hostels, which were running in rented buildings across the State, had been locked up by their owners, and that the owners of the buildings had locked them up in protest against the government's non-payment of rent for nine months.
"Residential schools, colleges and hostels in Tungaturthi, Bellampalli, Tandur, Warangal, Bhupalpally, Huzurnagar and Bhuvanagiri have been locked by the owners of the buildings. Students and teachers who came to the schools after the Dasara holidays are waiting outside. The State Gurukul Vidyalaya Private Building Owners' Association has demanded that all the dues be paid immediately," he said.
