Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) senior leader and MLC Kasireddy Narayan Reddy on Sunday resigned from the party ahead of the State Assembly elections.
He is the second prominent leader to leave the ruling party in the past few days - Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao too left late last month to join the Congress.
The MLC too is said to be all set to join the Congress. He met with Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy at the latter's residence in the city and reportedly expressed his desire to join the Congress.
Reddy had hoped for the BRS ticket for the Kalvakurthi Assembly seat for the upcoming elections. However, BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao allotted the ticket to sitting MLA Jaipal Yadav. Reportedly upset over being denied the party ticket, the MLC decided to quit the party and join the Congress.
Nagarkurnool district Zilla Parishad Vice Chairman Balaji Singh too resigned from the BRS along with Reddy and has reportedly decided to join the Congress.
