BRS leader and former MLA Balka Suman was released from the Adilabad district jail today after securing bail from courts in Mancherial and Chennur.
He was received outside the jail by former minister Jogu Ramanna and other BRS leaders.
Former ZP vice-chairman Moola Rajireddy was also released.
Suman was arrested on February 18 in connection with clashes that happened during the Chairman and Vice-Chairman elections of the Kyathanapalli municipality in Mancherial district.
Addressing the media upon his release, Suman accused minister G Vivek and his son MP G Vamsi of attempting to lure 14 BRS and CPI councillors with blank cheques.
He also alleged that it was Congress councillors that had created a ruckus during the municipal Chairman election, and that false cases were filed against him instead.
Suman also questioned the government over its handling of the Kyathanapalli issue and criticised it as a political vendetta in the district.
