BJP Secures Khanapur Municipal Chairperson's Post
The BRS extended its support to the BJP giving the latter as the BJP and the BRS each have four seats in the 12-seat municipality.

The suspense surrounding the election for the Khanapur Municipal Chairperson in Nirmal district ended today. BJP candidate Ankam Mounika was elected as the Chairperson.
Councillors from both the BJP and the BRS raised their hands in her favour.
BRS candidate Mohammed Shoaib was elected as the Vice-Chairperson.
The Khanapur municipality comprises 12 municipal councillor seats. In the recent elections, the BRS won four seats, the BJP won four, the Congress secured three, and an Independent candidate won the other.
With the support of the Independent candidate and an ex-officio vote, the Congress' strength rose to five. However, the BRS extended its support to the BJP. Consequently, seven members from the BRS and the BJP raised their hands in support of the BJP candidate, ensuring her smooth victory.
