The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Thursday filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking an order to the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the removal of car-like symbols in the Telangana Assembly elections.
In the petition, the BRS claimed that its candidates were facing problems due to car-like symbols - auto, road roller, chapati roller, television set and others - which were confusing voters and damaging the winning chances of its candidates.
The BRS had requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) some time back not to allot symbols similar to cars in the upcoming elections. However, with the ECI failing to respond to its plea, the party filed this petition in the Delhi High Court.
