BJP leader and former minister E Peddi Reddy today said that the party would even welcome Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao into its ranks if the latter wanted to switch over to the BJP fold.
He made the statement while responding to a question about former TRS leader Etala Rajender's recent entry into the saffron party.
Reacting to the addition, Pedi Reddy said that the BJP would not discriminate between a KCR and a Rajender when it came to welcoming the leaders into the party, clarifying that such differences were only pondered upon at the time of any kind of elections.
The leader was, however, quick to add that he would contest for the Huzurabad constituency seat if he got the opportunity to do so. He then refuted the claims that he had met the CM at his farmhouse, and even claimed that he was not aware of the whereabouts of the same.
The former minister's statements today are bound to leave many puzzled because he had recently kicked up quite a fuss regarding Rajender's entry into his party, and had tried to oppose this tooth and nail. He had also expressed his shock at the party's high command for allowing Rajender to join the party without consulting him, and had warned that there would be a storm within the BJP if the recently-ousted leader was allowed to join.
