Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Unit President G Kishen Reddy on Wednesday appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to consider payment of arrears to the caterers running the messes in the state universities.
Payment of arrears would facilitate the mess caterers to reopen the messes, said Kishen Reddy while speaking to mediapersons at the State Secretariat.
He sought the intervention of the government to maintain parity in the mess charges collected from post graduates who were paying Rs. 950, and graduates who were paying Rs. 520.
Kishen Reddy stated that graduates should also be charged Rs. 950.
Negating the allegations raised by the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen that RSS and VHP activists were behind communal violence, he charged the MIM with instigating innocent Muslim youth to involve them in violence.
Reacting to the Chief Minister´s being favourably disposed towards lifting the cases against the people allegedly involved in pro- and anti- separate statehood violence, Kishen Reddy observed that lifting such cases would invite legal complications.
The BJP leader also urged the Chief Minister to consider increasing the daily wages of home guards.
