BJP Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy has finally filed his nomination from the Amberpet Assembly segment.
Kishan Reddy, who was reportedly upset with the party's decision to ally with the Telugu Desam Party, had earlier announced that he would not contest the ensuing elections. However, a few hours before the closing of nominations on Wednesday, he was directed by BJP national president Rajnath Singh to file his nomination from the Amberpet seat.
Speaking to media persons after filing the nomination papers, Kishan Reddy clarified that he was not against the alliance with the TDP, but that he wanted to dedicate all his time for the party by not contesting the elections himself. He said that he had filed his nomination from Amberpet following the direction of the party's leadership. He expressed confidence that he would be re-elected from the seat. (INN)
