The two-day national executive council meetings of the BJP commenced at the HICC in Hyderabad today.
National president of the party J P Nadda inaugurated the meetings.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Ministers of several BJP-ruled States, and union ministers took part in the meetings. In all, a total of 348 delegates of the national executive attended the meetings today.
Union Minister for Tourism & Culture G Kishan Reddy felicitated Prime Minister Modi on the dais. Later, State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BJP MLA Eatala Rajender and party leader A P Jithender Reddy also felicitated Modi.
The meetings are being held in Hyderabad after 18 years. The party high command is likely to focus in these meetings on the steps required to strengthen the party further and on preparing its cadre for the next Lok Sabha elections. The meeting will also take up discussions on the prevailing social and economic conditions in the country, and on the conditions prevailing in the BJP-ruled States and the non-BJP-ruled States.
The party is also planning to give a call to the cadre to end the "family rule" of the TRS in Telangana, and Modi is likely to give a road map to the State party unit to win the next Assembly elections in Telangana.
The executive meetings are expected to adopt a political resolution in the name of the Hyderabad declaration.
