There are plenty of challenges going on in Telangana between political leaders these days. The resignation challenge between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and former minister Harish Rao has already become a hot topic. In a fresh development, BJLP leader Eleti Maheshwar Reddy today made trenchant comments against CM Revanth Reddy.
"If all the promises made by CM Revanth Reddy are implemented by August 15, I will take up political retirement," Maheshwar Reddy said.
He said that he would send his open letterhead to Gandhi Bhavan. "The CM can himself write the resignation in the Speaker's format and do the needful. At the same time, Revanth Reddy too should give his resignation in the same way for a scenario where he does not fulfill his promises by that date," he said.
"The CM also did not respond to my challenge that I will take up political retirement if the Congress wins 14 MP seats. Will he at least stick to his word on loan waiver?" he asked.
He alleged that Revanth Reddy was speaking from insanity, and was behaving like Muhammad Ghazni. He also alleged that the CM was trying to divert the attention of the people.
"The phone-tapping and Kaleswaram issues are being kept aside and new things are being brought to the fore, making it look like the Congress has an arrangenent with the BRS. What is the dark deal in Harish Rao and Revanth Reddy's drama? Is Harish Rao an Eknath Shinde for the Congress? There is a suspicion among the people of the State," he said.
Maheshwar Reddy also said that the Congress had made a total of 419 promises, and asked why the CM was not talking about all of them, calling that too a diversionary tactic. "Why don't you also talk about the Rythu Bandhu and Mahalakshmi schemes, and the jobs calendar for the youth? Why are you not talking about the Rs 10 lakh for BCs? Why are you talking about just the loan waiver and not about the other five declarations like BC, farmer and youth?" he asked.
"Where did the BJP write that reservations would be removed? The Congress is the party that changed the Constitution the most. Isn't it a fact that injustice was done to BCs, SCs and STs by giving Muslims reservation? Is it not a fact that Muslims have won in the name of BCs in the local bodies? Have you not done injustice to the backward classes by keeping minorities under the BC category? If the Congress comes to power, it will give 10% reservation to the minorities," he said.
Reddy also said derisively that the Congress was not contesting in even 300 Lok Sabha constituencies across the country.
