Minister for Finance T Harish Rao lashed out at BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay and Union Minister Kishan Reddy for "spreading lies and telling untruths" against the TRS government.
Minister for Finance T Harish Rao today lashed out at BJP Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay and Union Minister Kishan Reddy for "spreading lies and telling untruths" against the TRS government.
Speaking at a press conference, Rao said that lies were now ingrained into the BJP's DNA, and that both Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy were routinely stooping to the lowest levels while speaking.
"Kishan Reddy is now holding a constistutional post as a union minister. He should maintain some dignity and always tell the truth to the people while speaking. Bandi Sanjay is also a State unit president of the national party. Unfortunately, their behaviour is now worse than that of galli leaders, and both are frustrated after the success of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's public meeting," Harish Rao said.
Claiming that about 99% of the Munugodu Assembly constituency's residents had benefited from the various schemes implemented by the State government, the minister said that he was ready to show proof for that, and dared the BJP leaders to come to Munugodu for a debate.
He claimed that the Munugodu constituency had the highest beneficiaries of the Rythu Bandhu scheme with 1,01,279 farmers. Similarly, about 40,000 people were getting Asara pensions, and about 1,200 families had so far got the Rythu Bheema scheme. In addition to this, drinking waters from the Krishna river were now reaching all the households in the constituency, Rao said.
Talking about the MLAs' poaching case, the minister said that the BJP was at the top of the list in encouraging defections, and that it had a history of toppling eight elected governments in the country.
"If the BJP leaders say that it is the right for TDP Rajya Sabha Members Sujana Chowdary, C M Ramesh and Garikapati Mohan Rao to join their party, what is wrong if the Congress MLAs in Telangana join the TRS," Rao asked.
Rao also claimed that the union government had given clear instructions to Telangana to install electric meters at agriculture pumpsets, and showed what he claimed was a circular to that effect.
MLA Kaleru Venkatesh, and TRS leaders Swamy Goud, Dasoju Shravan and Srinivas Reddy were also present in the press conference.
