Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy today slammed the Karimnagar police for arresting the state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and asked the police if the coronavirus rules applied only to the BJP.
He asked the police on what basis they had raided the MP's office.
He made these remarks while addressing media persons after meeting Sanjay in the Karimnagar district jail.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the BJP would not be scared of illegal cases.
Asking the police if they would not allow protest programs by opposition parties, he said that there was no such suppression during the Telangana statehood agitation.
He also claimed that the union government had not stopped farmers from holding their agitation for one whole year in Delhi.
He alleged that the Telangana police were booking cases against BJP leaders and workers by randomly citing violation of one Covid rule or the other.
