Condemning the remarks of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders on Congress leaders over the corruption in the state and at centre, All India Congress Committee secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar asked BJP leaders to keep in mind their party's history before making allegation against the Congress.
Talking to media persons at the CLP on Thursday, the MLC said that the BJP leaders Bhandaru Dattatreya and M Venkaiah Naidu were making baseless allegations against the Congress, and resorting to targeting the party's senior leaders.
"Before making allegations against Congress, the BJP leaders should know about their own history. The Yeddyurappa-led BJP government in Karnataka had allotted flats worth Rs. 1.50 crore to his relatives. What action did the BJP take against this act of corruption?," Sudhakar asked.
"The Gali brothers in Yeddurappa ministry are known for indulging in corruption, and running a mining mafia. What action has the BJP leaders initiated against them?" the Congress leader wondered aloud. Sudhakar termed the BJP as 'Bharatiya Jhootha (Liar) Party'.
Reacting to the comments made by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu on corruption, the AICC member stated that corruption had been rampant during Naidu's tenure, and the Congress was not in a position to learn lessons from Naidu.
Reacting to the crisis over the Free Zone issue, the senior Congress leader said thar the government would make efforts to get the Clause 14 (F) deleted from the Presidential Orders to prevent injustice. The government would stall recruitments until government deleted Clause 14 (F), he stated.
Reacting to the controversy over placing former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's portrait at martyrs memorial meetings, Sudhakar stated that nobody could replace YSR in the hearts of people.
Instead of raising a hue and cry over placing of YSR portraits, the organizers could make efforts to organize the program smoothly, and see that the benefits reach the beneficiaries, the Congress leader stated.
