The BJP MLAs of the state today staged a protest against the cancellation of the traditional Governor's speech, at the Martyrs' Memorial at Gun Park, with MLAs Eatala Rajender, T Raja Singh and M Raghunandan Rao attending.
They also paid tributes at the memorial and wore black kanduvas.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajendar alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had ignored the Governor, and had no moral right to continue in his post.
He wondered what would be the plight of the members of the Assembly when the Governor herself did not have the right to address the state legislature.
Alleging that the Chief Minister was insulting the members of the Assembly, Rajender predicted that his party would wrest power in the next Assembly elections.
Commenting on the Assembly session, Rajendar alleged that the state government was not giving adequate time for the opposition MLAs to speak. He recalled that the opposition MLAs used to get a lot of time to speak on public problems in the past.
He said the BJP would however fight on all public problems in the Assembly.
Raja Singh termed the rule of KCR as that of Adolf Hitler of Germany, and alleged that the CM had pushed the state into darkness.
He also claimed that the CM had broken a convention which has been in vogue for 40 years for petty political purposes, and had insulted Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan as she was a woman.
Raghunandan Rao alleged that the CM was implementing his own constitution in Telangana, as was shown by his cancellation of the Governor's speech. He also alleged that the police were now even stopping opposition party MLAs coming to attend the Assembly session.
