BJP Demands Rs. 100 Crores For Weak Brahmins

The Telangana State BJP demanded that the State government release Rs. 100 crores from the budget for the welfare of economically weak Brahmins.
Hyderabad | 23rd October 2016
The Telangana State BJP on Sunday demanded that the State government release Rs. 100 crores from the budget for the welfare of the people belonging to the Brahmin caste and help solve their problems.

In a press release, MLC and national BJP executive member N Ramchander Rao recalled that the TRS government had announced during the budget session of Assembly in March that it would constitute a Brahmin Welfare Corporation and allocated Rs. 100 crores in the budget.

But even eight months after the announcement, the State government had neither set up a "Brahmin Corporation" nor released the promised amount.

The BJP leader claimed the funds already allocated for Brahmins would be of no use as they were too little.

He urged the government to keep its promise of forming a corporation and release the funds that were promised so that it would benefit the economically backward Brahmins in pursuing higher education, scholarships and overseas education.
