Former union minister and BJP senior leader Ch. Vidyasagar Rao demanded that the state government conduct official celebrations of Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17.
Talking to reporters here, on Thursday, Vidyasagar Rao said, "The Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations should be on par with Independence Day celebrations. There should be a national flag-hoisting ceremony and a parade in all the districts of Telangana. The Chief Minister, ministers and senior officials should participate in these ceremonies."
He said that since the Hyderabad state was liberated from the Nizam's Rule in 1948, there should be celebrations on a grand scale to keep the young generation updated about its history. (INN)
