Telangana BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman on Wednesday asked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to implement the recommendations of the 10th Pay Revision Commission by providing 70% Fitment Benefit to nearly 4 lakh employees and pensioners of the State Government on the occasion of Dassera.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Dr Lakshman said that the erstwhile Congress Government had constituted the 10th Pay Revision Commission in 2013, and an Interim Relief @ 27% was given w.e.f. 1st January, 2014, pending submission and implementation of the 10th PRC.
The said PRC headed by IAS officer P K Agrawal, after a marathon exercise and consultions with the recognized Employees Unions/Associations, had submitted a detailed recommendatory report to the Government in May 2014, and it had been pending with the State Government for the last 5 months for implementation.
"It is further to bring to the notice of the Chief Minister that due constitution and implementation of the PRC every 5 years is needed to provide relief to the employees from the rise in prices and inflation. As of now, over a period of the last 30 years, there have been only 2 PRCs constituted, causing immense financial loss to government employees through decreasing their purchasing power," the BJP leader said.
He reminded the Chief Minister that the TRS Party had in its election manifesto promised to implement pay revision benefits for Telangana employees aimed at bringing their scales on par with those of the employees of the Government of India.
"Ever since the formation of the state on 2nd June, the PRC Report has been pending with the State Government, and the 4 lakh employees working in various categories in the Government of Telangana are eagerly waiting for the implementation of PRC @ 70% Fitment Benefit," he said, demanding that the PRC recommendations be implemented without further delay.
