With the second-rung leaders of the BRS in Jangaon raising a banner of revolt against its MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy and assembling for a meeting at Haritha Plaza in the city beside the official residence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the differences in the BRS Jangaon Assembly constituency came to the fore once again.
On Wednesday, 46 village sarpanches, MPTCs and scores of leaders from the Jangaon Assembly constituency came to Haritha Plaza for a meeting against Muthireddy. Upon learning of that, the MLA rushed to the hotel and asked the party leaders why they had come to Hyderabad without his knowledge.
Shocked by the appearance of the MLA at Haritha Plaza, the party leaders replied that they had come to Hyderabad on the invitation of MLC and Rythu Bandhu Samithi State President Palla Rajeshwar Reddy.
It is being said that the sarpanches and MPTCs had been summoned by Palla Rajeshwar Reddy in a bid to meet the Chief Minister and request him not to give a ticket again to Reddy.
With rumours doing the rounds for some time that Muthireddy will not get the ticket this time, many aspirants are eyeing the BRS ticket for the Jangaon Assembly constituency. MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy is clearly fancying his chances from Jangaon - an audio clip recently surfaced in which some leaders were heard discussing his candidature in case Muthireddy was denied a ticket. BRS MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, ZP chairman Sampath Reddy, and Kiran Kumar Goud, son of former MLC Raja Lingam, are also gunning for the ticket.
