CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today slammed the TRS-led state government for its "failure" to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Telangana.
He said that the Covid-19 patients in the state were dying due to the lack of medical oxygen other critically important treatment facilities, and alleged that the state government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had been "sleeping instead of managing the crisis".
The leader also alleged that the CM had
removed Health Minister Etala Rajender from office instead of taking steps to contain the current health emergency.
Bhatti Vikramarka asked the CM about what kind of review meetings he had held so far on the issue of the management of the pandemic after having transferred the health portfolio to himself. Reminding him also about the state task force that had been set up to deal with Covid-19 last year, the leader said that nobody had any information about the functioning of the body.
"The CM had said that the task force would give its report to the Opposition. However, I am not aware of any such report. I do not think that any report has been given by the task force yet. The Congress, when it had been in power at the Centre, had successfully administered polio vaccines to every Indian. Why can't the CM come out of his farmhouse and understand the problems being faced by the people of a single state?" he fumed.
Referring to the comments of Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar that the state's healthcare sector had all kinds of facilities for the treatment of Covid-19, Bhatti Vikramarka asked the CS to actually visit all the hospitals with the Congress leaders to truly see the situation on the ground.
He then added that he would write a letter seeking the reappointment of the governor and CM, and also demanded that the state government finalise the fee to be charged at all private hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19.
