Telangana's Left parties today took out a protest rally from Koti to the RTC crossroads in the city to support the Bharat Bandh called by the farmers protesting the BJP-led union government's farm laws.
Various leaders and activists of the Left participated in the rally against the "anti-farmer" laws, claiming that the laws were designed to do away with the MSP system and loot the farmers while furthering corporate interests.
The leaders also said that the Centre had passed the laws despite great opposition from various civil society organisations, farmers' organisations and the Opposition, just to appease the big businesses.
"Today is the thirteenth day of the farmers protests in Delhi, which shows the Modi regime's apathy towards the protestors. We urge the Centre to cancel the laws immediately. The parties of the Left will continue to protest and mount pressure on the Centre till this is done," they added.
The discontented leaders expressed their extreme displeasure with the Modi regime by wearing masks with the faces of the Prime Minister, union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the businessmen Adani and Ambani during the rally.
