The High Court has quashed Lokayukta's ruling on the fish medicine given by Bathini Goud family.
The Bathini Goud brothers have been administering this "medicine" (reported to cure asthma) for quite some time now. The Bathini fish medicine is stuffed inside the mouth of a live murrel fish, which is then swallowed by the patient.
Though this treatment has come under the ire of the medical community, samples of the medicine, which have actually been analysed, have been reported to be free of any poisonous substances.
The High Court has ruled that the state government can make arrangements for administering the fish medicine.
Earlier, Lokayukta had said that the government cannot involve itself in the fish medicine distribution.
The verdict was challenged by Bathini family in the High Court, which struck down the Lokayukta verdict. (INN)
