Banks across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will have one of the longest spells of holidays ever, from September 30.
In view of half-yearly closing, the banks will not do regular transactions on September 30 and October 1.
They will remain closed for the next two days on account of Gandhi Jayanthi (Oct 2) and Dasara (Oct 3).
It being Saturday, the banks will work for only half a day on October 4, and there are strong possibilities of thin attendance as many employees would have taken leave in view of festivals.
The next day, October 5, is a Sunday. And with Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) falling on that day, the banks will remain closed on October 6 (Monday).
Thus, the banks will resume their regular functioning only on October 7 (Tuesday).
In probably a rare occurrence, the banks will remain closed for 10 days during October. In addition to four Sundays, the banks will observe 6 other holidays: October 1 - half-yearly closing, October 2 - Gandhi Jayanthi, October 3 - Dasara, October 6 - Bakrid, October 23 - Diwali, October 24 - Vikram Samvant New Year Day.
