BJP MP from Telangana Bandi Sanjay, recently replaced as the party's State unit president, has got a much-anticipated promotion.
The national leadership issued an order today appointing Sanjay as a national general secretary of the BJP. He will be one of nine general secretaries of the party.
D K Aruna has been retained as a national vice-president of the party (there are 13 vice-presidents in the BJP). The BJP has also decided to continue AP BJP leader Sathyakumar as a national secretary (there are now 13 secretaries in the party's organization).
Ever since Bandi Sanjay resigned as the BJP's Telangana president, there has been a lot of speculation about his political future. It was already reported that the central leadership of the party was likely to either give him a place in the union cabinet or appoint him as a national secretary and make him the in-charge of some States to avail itself of his services.
