The High Court of Bombay today declined to grant bail to jailed writer Varavara Rao.
It dismissed the petition filed by his family members claiming that the 80-year-old writer was suffering from chronic illness.
However it asked the authorities of Nanavati Hospital to find out the status of the health condition of Rao.
It then adjourned the case to November 17.
The wife of Rao, Hemalatha, had approached the High Court of Bombay claiming that the health condition of her husband was fast deteriorating. She alleged that the authorities of the state government were neglecting the health of her husband.
