The Bombay High Court today dismissed a bail petition moved by prominent Telangana civil rights activist Varavara Rao.
The petition was filed by the counsel for Rao seeking his enlargement on poor health grounds.
However, the counsel for the NIA opposed bail for Rao claiming that the allegations made against him were very serious.
This prompted the HC to reject his bail petition.
Rao is facing charges of plotting a conspiracy for the murder of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was arrested by the NIA in November 2018, and has been languishing in the Pune-based Erwada jail since then.
