Kota Venkat Sai Prasad, son of Telugu film actor Kota Srinivas Rao, was cremated at the Erragadda crematorium on Monday afternoon.
Thousands of people bid their farewell to the aspiring actor, while the weeping father travelled along with the body to the crematorium.
Earlier on Monday, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, were among the host of well-wishers who paid a visit to Kota. Political leaders, members of the Telugu film fraternity, fans and the general public called on the veteran actor to offer their condolences on his son's death.
Prasad was killed when a vehicle dashed against the sports bike he was travelling on, leaving him fatally injured on the Outer Ring Road on Sunday. He was declared dead on arrival at Olive Hospital in Tolichowki.
The TDP chief, the Kadapa MP, and Balakrishna were among the heavyweights who consoled Kota's weeping family members and expressed their sympathies.
All through the day, well wishers had been making a beeline to the Kota residence at Jubilee Hills.
